Villa Calcinaia - winery in Greve in Chianti

​The Capponi family has been tied to the Villa Calcinaia for at least a half a millennium and this is really a place where history keeps its original charm with a beautiful villa and grounds around it. The wine has become central to the family business in recent times only, and Sebastiano Capponi who's the current Count and owner is a down-to-earth enthusiastic winery director. When his schedule allows it he'll personally take his guests on a tour of the estate to give his guests an overview of the family history, the grounds and the authentic wine production which is in continuous experimentation.
