La Ginestra
Perched on the hills of San Casciano, this small farm is truly one of a kind. It was born in 1978 from the dream of a group of young visionaries who reclaimed and cultivated abandoned land in the Chianti region, driven by a passion for reviving the Tuscan countryside and its traditions.
Today, just as in the beginning, the farm remains committed to organic farming and specializes in natural wines. In the vineyards, they follow a low-intervention approach, using minimal fertilization and low doses of copper while applying periodic biodynamic treatments to enrich the soil’s vitality.
Their winemaking philosophy has led to three distinct wine lines: one rooted in tradition, featuring Chianti Annata and Riserva, and two more experimental lines that embrace ancient aging techniques in amphora—an approach gaining popularity, especially for white wines.
Beyond wine, the farm cultivates ancient grains, producing flour for pasta and bread, along with spelt, chickpeas, and other cereals used both for food and as feed for their free-range pigs and cows. A small olive grove yields exceptional extra virgin olive oil, which is featured at their Bio Ristoro—a farm-to-table restaurant that serves only their own organic produce.
Their other great passion is beekeeping. Directly from the hive, they produce a variety of monofloral and wildflower honeys, along with pollen and propolis tinctures.
La Ginestra is also a farmhouse offering year-round accommodations, inviting guests to experience the beauty of rural Tuscany firsthand.
