Croce di Febo - winery in Montepulciano
MONTEPULCIANO
Croce di Febo is the name of this small winery on the southern side of Montepulciano in Tuscany. It’s owned by Maurizio and Silvia and is a real family affair now that their son is also getting involved. The grapes are grown organically, primarily Sangiovese (or Prugnolo Gentile as Sangiovese goes by in the hoods of Montepulciano) for the Vino Nobile and Rosso di Montepulciano – the two traditional wines of the region. But Maurizio is also a big fan of natural wine making, so he uses amphora and makes also a bone dry rosé, a field-blend Tuscan red, and a delicious northern-rhone-style Syrah.
